Misplaced Priorities

“If it’s important to you, you’ll find the time. If it’s not important to you, you’ll find an excuse.”

I despise the whitewashed, cold-hearted excuse, “I guess it just isn’t a priority” when the significance of the relationship demands that a priority IS made.

We need to stop giving ourselves grace when we neglect those that should feel confident and safe in our love, care, and concern. We find the people in our lives who will say “Yeah, me too” or those who never hold us accountable and then we can feel better about our irresponsible behavior.

And yes, to not take good care of the little hearts who trust us to listen to their cares, bear their burdens, and always look after their best interests is, simply put, INDEFENSIBLE.

At least, that’s how I see it.
