Over the last several years eyeshadow pallets have been coming out in droves, both at the drugstore and department stores. I have purchased several of them, but to be honest I haven’t been too happy with the results. As we age, our eyelids tend to get crepey, which makes it very difficult to wear powder eyeshadow.

I saw the Butter London Serum Eyeshadows on the Ulta website and thought I would give them a try to see if perhaps another eyeshadow formula would give me better results. I seemed to have hit the jackpot!

First, these cream eyeshadows come in the prettiest of colors.

I picked up the Driftwood and the Mauve Mist. They both are gorgeous! I use a MAC 242 eyeshadow brush to apply and it works like a dream. (You could apply with your finger.) These eyeshadows dry fairly quickly, however, you do have enough time to place them where you wish. I apply the shadow to my movable lid and up to the top of my crease.

A lot of the makeup that I share on the Beauty Guru section here on my blog is for an everyday look. I prefer single color eyeshadows for daily wear, no matter what formula I use. I feel ridiculous going to the grocery store, or a doctors appointment with 3+ eyeshadow colors on my eyes.

I ‘m one who thinks as we age we need to focus more on the care of our skin and try to wear less makeup. That heavily made up porcelain doll look ages us and who wants that!

If you need to add a few things to your makeup bag for this new season, give the Butter London Serum Shadows a try. I think you’ll be very pleased! Remember to shop through Ebates and receive 3% cash back.
