Acorn TV

If you have a Smart TV or streaming device, you have the ability to subscribe to Acorn TV. The cost is $4.99 monthly. I subscribed on my Roku streaming device, however, you can subscribe through Amazon Prime as well.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my Acorn subscription. It primarily streams series and movies that are from the BBC (British Broadcasting Channel) but there are a few Canadian and Australian programs as well.

One of my favorite series is “A Place to Call Home“, which is set and filmed in Australia. New seasons are available periodically. Another series that my husband and I are currently watching is “Murdoch Mysteries“, a crime mystery program from the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Channel). We are addicted!

Acorn TV, just like most streaming channels offers a free week trial. Head over here and give it a look-see, I think you’ll be glad you did!

Masterpiece Theatre

Many years ago, when our boys were small, we were hosting my in-laws for dinner. My MIL and I were talking about how years ago many women would watch their “stories” (soap operas) every day.

My youngest son blurted out, “Mommy; you watch your soap opera.” I was confused and asked him to explain. He replied, “You know, Masterpiece Theatre.” I breathed a sigh of relief, and we all laughed!

Seriously, I have been an avid fan of Masterpiece Theatre for decades. I am currently watching Home Fires which I love. What has been my favorite series? So many, but to name a few: Poldark, Grantchester, and of course, Downton Abbey.

Where can you find me at 9:00 p.m. on a Sunday night? One place – on my sofa watching Masterpiece Theatre. I wouldn’t miss it for anything! Won’t you join me?
